Alexis Chivir-ter Tsegba (she/they) is a visual artist whose practice is grounded in digital collage and illustration while expanding towards video and installation. She is a versatile designer with a span of experience working commercially in industries including music, film, textile, branding, print and publishing, healthcare and charities. In 2022, she received the 2022 runner-up prize for Best in Illustrated Journalism from the Victoria and Albert Illustration Awards.
In her personal artistic practice, Alexis is drawn to art forms characterised by experimentation and synthesis wary of borders limits and fixed genres. Her work directly engages subjects such as Afro-futurism, queerness and gender expression in African bodies, religion, spirituality and exploring the inner self. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's in Creative and Media Enterprises. and her works have been shown in galleries in the UK, U.S., Germany, South Africa and Nigeria. She is currently pursuing an MFA at Simon Fraser University.
